Senator Pia Cayetano could not stop the burst of her emotions due to a father who caused a severe injury to his child because of negligence.

In the ‘CIA with BA episode on Sunday, Sept. 24, the lawmaker reprimanded a certain Christian, who was the subject of a complaint by his mother-in-law, Angelita, in the “Case 2 Face” segment.

Angelita narrated that Christian was drunk one Saturday night when he took one of his three children on a motorcycle ride driven by his friend, who was also under the influence of alcohol. They all got involved in an accident that caused significant injuries to the kid. Angela learned about what happened very late because Christian and his wife, Christine (Angelita’s adopted daughter), never told her.

According to the grandmother, her grandchild had to be brought to the hospital to undergo medication, including bone cement, which she paid for.

After hearing the story, Senator Pia called out Christian and Christine for initially keeping the incident a secret.

Pride mo ‘yon! Naaksidente ‘yung apo niya, hindi niyo sinabi?” she said.

“Pa’no kung duguan ‘yon?

For his part, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano explained that what Christian did could be considered a crime.

“Alam mo, pwede kang ipakulong. Kasi ‘yung ginawa mo sa anak mo, pasok sa VAWC (Violence Against Women and Children) ‘yon at pasok sa child abuse. Bakit? May neglect ka do’n,” he told Christian.

Before the segment ended, Christian and Christine asked for Angelita’s forgiveness and promised to do better as parents of their children and as son-in-law and daughter to her.

Meanwhile, the public service program pledged to assist Christian, including tools he can use to start a small furniture business and vocational education through TESDA (Technical Education And Skills Development Authority) so he can provide for his family. For Angelita, ‘CIA with BA’ would help her start a small nail care business.

'CIA with BA' continues the legacy of Senator Rene Cayetano, the late father of sibling senators Alan and Pia. The senior Cayetano was a renowned lawyer who gained fame through his radio and TV program 'Compañero y Compañera,' which aired from 1997 to 2001.
