Candidates of the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in Parañaque City signed a peace covenant at the local office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday, Sept. 22.
The signing ceremony was held at the Parañaque City Sports Complex in Barangay San Antonio.
Candidates from the city’s 16 barangays in District 1 and 2 signed the covenant as their commitment to ensuring a peaceful campaign and election period.
During the event, Comelec also conducted an orientation and briefing session with the candidates.
Comelec - Parañaque City, headed by District 1 election officer Atty. Nesrin Cali and District 2 election officer Atty. Mario Vernar Esguerra organized the program for a peaceful, orderly and succesful conduct of the BSKE.
The city police chief, Col. Reycon L. Garduque, also joined in the activity.
