BACOLOD CITY – The municipality of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental announced that all its 23 barangays are now drug-cleared.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas declared the two remaining barangays in the town as drug-cleared during the online deliberation of the 49th Regional Oversight Committee (ROC) on Barangay Drug-Clearing Program on Thursday, August 31.
The last two barangays to be cleared of illegal drugs were Barangays Poblacion 3 and Alicante, according to Police Major Kenneth Jay Gratones, E.B. Magalona police chief.
"Our tasks in illegal drug campaign are not yet finished. In fact, it is just the beginning of a campaign to sustain the gain so painstakingly pursued," Gratones said.
Mayor Marvin Malacon commended the police, PDEA, municipal and barangay officials, and other agencies and sectors for closely working together to make all the barangays in the town drug-cleared.
