The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has reaffirmed its commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing that these objectives are not mere aspirations but "obligations of all."
“We firmly believe that achieving the SDGs extends beyond just aspirations; they are our obligations. Obligations of all,” PRC Secretary-General Dr. Gwen Pang said in a statement last Sept. 16.
“The commitment of the PRC to the SDGs encompasses humanitarian action, health and well-being, inclusivity, education and empowerment, and partnership,” she added.
Pang pointed out how the PRC's mission aligns with the values and objectives of "Change Maker 2040," where both entities share a vision of a sustainable Earth for future generations.
The PRC said "Change Maker 2040" is a museum showcasing the SDGs through dioramas and a sustainable presentation of Science and Technology as its primary aim is to support the government's campaigns that align with the 17 SDGs.
Pang also described the museum as “proof of the power of innovation and collective commitment to address global challenges.”
In addition, she underscored that it is one way to take action to eradicate poverty, inequality, and injustices"
Meanwhile, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lawrence Li Tan of PAEC, expressed his gratitude to the organization and other partner agencies for their support in realizing the museum's vision.
The SDGs are adopted by the United Nations (UN) as a universal call to action aimed at eradicating poverty, safeguarding the planet, and ensuring that by 2030, all people can enjoy peace and prosperity.
