Tricycle driver gunned down in Quezon

CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 31-year-old tricycle driver was shot dead in Barangay San Andres here on Thursday afternoon, September 14.

Police identified the victim as John Anthony Adelantar, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mangilag Sur, this town.

Initial investigation said a man followed the victim after dropping his child in school and was transporting an unidentified passenger when he was shot upon reaching the area.

The victim lost control of his tricycle which rammed a house and ran away but the suspect chased him until they reached a cornfield where he was shot and died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds.

Two stores were hit by stray bullets but nobody was wounded among customers who told police they only heard successive gunshots.

The suspect escaped and a follow-up investigation is ongoing.
