He is among the Filipino local government chief executives who attended the 14th UN-Habitat Environmental Technology Expert Group Meeting in Fukuoka and Kitakyushu this week.

Defensor emphasized during the exchange-learning discussions that the programs and services of his administration on disaster management and climate change adaptation are aligned with the national government.

He was joined by Mario Nillos, chief of the Iloilo Provincial Planning and Development Office.

The participation of the Iloilo provincial government is part of the Transformative Actions for Climate and Ecological Protection and Development (TRANSCEND), which is a collaborative project by local governments, the national government, and international partners.
