Speaking at the Asia Summit 2023, Marcos said the country's tech ecosystem was thriving as e-commerce has become one of the fastest growing trends in the Philippines.

"Our journey towards a digital future is in full swing. The Philippine tech ecosystem is thriving, marked by a dynamic startup culture and advancements in e-commerce, in fintech, and digital services, which have flourished during the pandemic," he said.

The President cited that Filipinos are one of the highest users of the internet and social media based on the 2023 Global Digital Report by Meltwater and We Are Social.

There are 85.16-million internet users in the Philippines, which represent a high internet penetration rate of 73.1 percent of the total population, with a growing number of customers using the internet and social media platforms to discover and buy products and services, the Chief Executive added.

"E-commerce has become one of the fastest growing trends in the Philippines," Marcos said as he invited investors to look into the Philippines as an investment destination, considering its growing digital trend.

"The growth of the country's digital economy bodes well for international companies who wish to tap into our increasingly digital digital economy," he said.

Marcos flew to Singapore on his 66th birthday to address the Asia Summit. Malacañang said it was a "working visit."
