Men's health in focus: DOH, partners offer free prostate cancer screening, consultation


The Department of Health (DOH), in partnership with the Philippine Society of Urologic Oncology (PSUO) and the Philippine Urological Association (PUA), will be offering its services in observance of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month this September.

The prostate cancer screening program is scheduled on Sept. 23, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The DOH emphasized that this initiative is designed to provide men with a particular focus on those aged 50 and above exhibiting symptoms of prostate enlargement.

Additionally, it also welcomed men with a family history or prior diagnosis of prostate cancer to take advantage of the opportunity for free screening and expert consultation.

Several institutions are actively participating in this project, including the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, East Avenue Medical Center, University of Santo Tomas-Chinese General Hospital, AFP Medical Center, Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine General Hospital, Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center, and the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Other participating establishments include Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, University of the East Medical Center, Batangas Medical Center, Paulino Garcia Medical Center, Corazon Locsin Medical Center, Ilocos Regional Training Center, Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Bicol Medical Center, and Urology Center of the Philippines Inc.
