Several flights cancelled due to bad weather

At least 22 international flights were cancelled on Friday, September 1, due to typhoon Saola (local name: Goring).

The Philippine Airlines (PAL) said 12 flights to and from Hong Kong, Xiamen, and Jinjiang did not push through as heavy rains and strong winds affected these areas.

These include:

PR 306/307 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

PR 300/301 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

PR 318/319 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

PR 310/311 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

PR 330/331 (Manila - Xiamen - Manila)

PR 356/357 (Manila - Jinjiang - Manila)

Other local and international airlines also cancelled their flights to and from Manila. They are as follows:

Air Asia (Z2) 

Z2 1264/1265 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

Cathay Pacific (CX) 

CX 930 (Manila - Hong Kong)

CX 918/919 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

CX 902/903 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

Cebu Pacific (5J) 

5J 110/111 (Manila - Hong Kong - Manila)

China Southern Airlines (CZ) 

CZ 3091 (Canton - Manila)

Affected passengers were urged by authorities to coordinate with their respective airlines to consider rebooking or other possible options.

Typhoon Saola was headed to southern China after exiting the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as Goring on August 31 although its trough, or the extension of the typhoon, may still affect some parts of the Philippines.
