CBCP appoints new vice rector of Pontificio Collegio Filippino in Rome


The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) appointed Fr. Marvin Tabion as the new vice rector and Oeconomus of the Pontificio Collegio Filippino (PCF) in Rome on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Fr. Tabion is a 45-year-old priest from the Archdiocese of Jaro, succeeding Fr. Jose Ray Ragudos of the Diocese of Alaminos, who had held the position since 2017.

CBCP said that he will play a vital role in assisting the PCF Rector, Fr. Gregory Ramon Gaston of Manila. His responsibilities encompass the oversight of material, personnel, and financial matters related to the PCF.

Tabion is an alumnus of PCF, he accomplished his Licentiate in Leadership and Management from the prestigious Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, underscoring his dedication to academic and spiritual growth.

The PCF founded in 1961, serves as a home and educational center for Filipino diocesan priests pursuing studies at various pontifical universities within Rome. 

CBCP added that it is overseen under the leadership of Bishop Ruperto Santos of Antipolo, who serves as the chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on the PCF. (Rhowen Del Rosario)
