New PSHS-CALABARZON campus director takes oath


Philippine Science High School - CALABARZON Region Campus' new campus director recently took his oath of office in an installation ceremony in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato Solidum, Jr. facilitated the oath-taking of the new campus director Rex Sunchiuco Forteza.

Forteza vowed to accept the leadership post with DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr. who served as inducting official.

“The vision is to create a learning community that nurtures and harnesses the transformational capabilities of Pisay scholars that are innovative, self-driven, and agents of positive change in their community and the globe. This community is sustained by a culture of well-being guided by the PSHS core values of Integrity, Excellence, and Service to Nation,” said Forteza.

Forteza, a pioneering faculty member of PSHS-Central Luzon Campus (PSHS-CLC) in Clark, Pampanga, taught physics and integrated science for 14 years. He also served as Curriculum and Instruction Division chief and unit head at PSHS-CLC.

“I am thrilled and honored to join this awe-inspiring community. I look forward to working with dedicated educators, supportive parents, and motivated students. Let’s forge a future for PSHS-CALABARZON Campus that fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and well-being,” said Forteza.

Forteza holds a Master of Physics from the Ateneo de Manila University and Master of Education in Global Education Leadership from Korea National University of Education. He earned his Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Physics Minor in Mathematics from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Forteza succeeds Dr. Jose M. Andaya, the first campus director of PSHS-CALABARZON Region Campus, who served for eight years.
