Manila Cathedral to hold exhibit on Cardinals Sin and Santos


The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Cathedral) in Intramuros, Manila is inviting the faithful to visit an exhibit in honor of two former archbishops of the Archdiocese of Manila—Jaime Cardinal Sin and Rufino Cardinal Santos.

Held in partnership with the Serviam Foundation and the Archdiocesan Archives of Manila, the exhibit marks the 95th birth anniversary of Cardinal Sin and the 50th death anniversary of Cardinal Santos.

The exhibit will feature photographs and memorabilia of the Church leaders.

“On August 31, 2023, we will be remembering and celebrating the 95th Birth Anniversary of the 30th Archbishop of Manila, Jaime L. Cardinal Sin. To honor his memories of Serviam (I will Serve), in partnership with the Serviam Foundation and the Archdiocesan Archives of Manila, the Manila Cathedral will be holding an exhibit of photos and memorabilia of the good cardinal,” the Manila Cathedral said in a Facebook post.
 

Diocese of Antipolo Bishop Ruperto C. Santos will preside over the Holy Mass for the birth anniversary of Cardinal Sin on Aug .31 at 12:10 p.m. followed by the blessing of the late cardinal’s tomb and the exhibit.

Dubbed as the Living the Serviam exhibit, it will be held at the Blessed Souls Chapel of the cathedral until Sept. 10.

Another exhibit which will run from Sept. 3 to 17 will be held at the Manila Cathedral in commemoration of the 50th death anniversary of Rufino Cardinal Santos.

The exhibit will feature photographs and memorabilia of the Church leader including some personal items and liturgical paraphernalia entrusted by the Santos family to the cathedral.

Manila Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Buhain will celebrate a holy mass at 10 a.m. on the opening of the exhibit on Sept. 3.
