Some Luzon roads not passable due to 'Goring', DPWH says

At least two roads in Luzon were rendered impassable due to the effects of typhoon “Goring”, the Department of Public and Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

In its report, the DPWH said some of the roads were flooded while some had collapsed pavement.

Some of the affected are segments of the road from Barangay Carilucud, Gadu-Carilucud-Nabbotuan-Palao-Macutay Road, Solana, Cagayan. The ongoing bridge replacement also in Solana town was also closed.

In Batangas, a section of Nasugbu - Lian - Calatagan Road is not passable due to collapsed pavement and shoulders brought by heavy rains.

Commuters are urged to take Balayan-Balibago Road and Palico-Balayan Road. From Tagaytay City, going to Calatagan, take Palico-Balayan Road and Balayan-Balibago Road.

The DPWH said it already sent teams to address the problem. (Nicole Magmanlac)
