CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Being the gateway to Northern Mindanao, a prominent logistics firm in the country considers this city the "biggest shipping hub" in Mindanao, which underscores its commitment to moving products to and from the island.

Leah Magdamit, senior business development manager of 2GO Group Inc., said this city has been discovered since the company is part of the SM Investments Corp., a group where sustainable businesses are being tapped and potential core markets are being explored.
"That is the reason exactly why we are here because we know that Cagayan de Oro is actually the regional center, logistics, and business hub of Northern Mindanao. Cagayan de Oro is very important for us," Magdamit said in a press conference here on Thursday, August 24.
According to 2GO officials, this city has a strategic economic advantage due to its equal distance from other regional metropolises, which is important for the development of the local economy.
In addition to being an industrial hub, cold chain requirements have increased over time, supplying a significant number of poultry and palm oil goods to Visayas as well as Metro Manila, where 80 percent of its hatching egg supply is supplied.
The company currently operates four times a week voyages between Cagayan de Oro and Manila, as well as twice weekly service to and from Cebu. Additionally, it also operates weekly services to Bacolod, Iloilo, and Tagbilaran.
These strategic networks underscore the commitment to moving products from anywhere in the Philippines to Mindanao and back. This intends to increase operations in this city by igniting business opportunities for regional businesses and local firms.
Faye Alonzo-Babar, business unit head for express and forwarding at 2GO Group Inc., claimed that 2GO is "the only passenger-cargo operator from Cagayan de Oro to Manila utilizing one of the most modern and fastest vessels in the Philippines."
During the press conference, 2GO officials presented various services of the company which people might not be aware of, as they wanted to emphasize that the company is more than a travel partner.
