Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos is looking forward to furthering President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s agenda for nation-building, especially now that they belong to the same political party.

On Thursday, Aug. 24, Rep. Marcos formally joined the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP). He was previously a stalwart of the Nacionalista Party (NP).

"It is my distinct pleasure to announce that I, along with a number of governors, joined Partido Federal ng Pilipinas earlier today," the presidential son wrote in a Facebook post.

"I look forward to working with my new party mates and more importantly, furthering the President’s agenda for nation building. Mabuhay ang PFP (Long love PFP)!" added the younger Marcos.

Rep. Marcos, 29, is the senior deputy majority leader in the House of Representatives.

President Marcos was also a former NP member.

The PFP is closely linked to the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), which is the dominant political party in the House.
