LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Police killed a robbery-holdup suspect in a hot-pursuit operation on Wednesday afternoon, August 23, in Prieto Diaz town, Sorsogon province.
Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office-5 (Bicol) spokesperson, identified the fatality as Roderick Bufete Cruz of Barangay Salvacion, Irosin, Sorsogon.
Investigation said Cruz robbed the victim, “Christian,” a resident of Prieto Diaz, of P52,000 and fled towards the direction of Irosin.
Police caught up with the suspect, triggering a gunbattle in which he was killed.
Cruz was wearing black sweatshirt, maong pants, and green helmet and road a red Honda XRM motorcycle.
Recovered from the suspect were guns, bullets, personal belongings, and the motorcycle.
Calubaquib said the suspect was also tagged in a robbery-holdup incident in Magallanes, Sorsogon.
