The schools that received their permits for the pre-kindergarten level were part of the Marikina Private Pre-School Association Inc. (MARIPRIPA), whose members include the Family Montessori Preschool of Loyola, the Marikina Greenheights Learning Center, and Purple Children Learning Academy Inc. among others.

The updated or renewed permit from the local government is a requirement for schools before the resumption of classes.

Private schools are mandated to annually submit applications and completed documents to their respective local, municipal, or provincial government bodies in order to obtain their permits to operate in their areas. According to the Department of Education (DepEd), the permits are issued on a school year basis to recognize and certify the legitimacy of the private educational institutions.

Marikina Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro and District 1 Representative Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro led the awarding ceremony, attended by the representatives of the schools.

As the new academic year draws near, the Teodoros vowed to support the association's programs and activities for pre-school children in the city.

After the distribution of permits, an induction and oath taking ceremony for new MARIPRIPA officers and elected members of the Board of Trustees was held.

The Marikina Schools Division Office (SDO) joined in the nationwide "Brigada Eskwela" activity to prepare classrooms, campuses, and facilities in public and private schools for school year 2023 to 2024.
