The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Thursday, Aug. 17, the completion of asphalt overlay at Iloilo – Capiz Road in Roxas City, Capiz which enhances motorists’ travel safety and efficiency.
The P35 million project consists a total length of 2.05 kilometer which involves a 50-millimeter thick asphalt overlay with reflective pavement markings and solar studs for improved visibility for the motorists.
DPWH Regional Office 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel said the project is a preventive maintenance to extend the service life of the road and avoid early deterioration.
The Iloilo-Capiz Road (New Route) connects Roxas City and Iloilo City, and serves as a major highway for both local residents and tourists.
The asphalt overlay project was implemented by DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineering Office. (Nicole Magmanlac)
