Filipino actress and singer Kristel Fulgar aired her grievance after she was replaced as host of Korean star Seo In-guk’s fan meeting in Manila just hours before the event.
Seo In-guk held his “1st Asia Fan Meeting Tour in Manila” on Aug. 12 at the New Frontier Theater.

It was earlier announced that Fulgar would host the event but she was replaced by Karen Bordador.
However, on the day of the fan meeting, Fulgar took to Instagram and announced that she would no longer host the fan meeting.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will no longer be hosting Seo In Guk's fan meet in Manila tonight. While l am saddened by this turn of events, l understand that decisions are made beyond our control,” she wrote.
She added, “I want to assure you all that my support for Seo In Guk remains steadfast. He is an amazing artist, and I will continue to cheer him on in his endeavors. Thank you for your understanding, love, and support. Let's continue to celebrate Seo In Guk together!”
On Aug. 15, Fulgar uploaded a video on her YouTube account and revealed the real reason why she was replaced as host.
Fulgar said she already rehearsed as host for the fan meeting but was replaced.
“Unfortunately I won’t be hosting the event anymore. It’s my first time experiencing this scenario in my 20 years in the business in entertainment,” she said.
She said the Korean technical director of Seo In-guk’s fan meeting told her that she would no longer be the host.
“I was already here by 7 a.m. I rehearsed and the Korean technical director eventually told me that I won’t be hosting anymore,” said Fulgar.
She added, “I prepared for this for so long. I took the time and prepared myself for this. I never accepted any hosting gigs, just this one for Seo In-guk.”
“I know I’m not an expert in hosting but I know I can connect with my co-fans and that’s what I really wanted to do,” she said.
Fulgar said she’s been a fan of Seo In-guk for 11 years.
“Since it was just a rehearsal, I’m not used to giving out 100 percent of my energy. So if they found my energy lacking during the rehearsal, I told them I will do my best. I expected them to let me up the stage again to show them the 100 percent I was talking about but they didn’t allow me and they currently contacted another host,” she said.
She said, “They keep telling me that they just want a good event. They didn’t even give me a second chance to prove myself. And I’m ashamed to the people that already expected to see me up there. I’m so sorry guys.”
Despite what happened, Fulgar met Seo In-guk backstage and spent time with him. They talked and had a selfie together.
Fulgar attended the fan meeting and sat in the audience area.
