In a statement released by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on Friday, July 7, the agency announced that students from both colleges can pursue "undergraduate programs, internships, and cultural studies overseas in Early Childhood Education, Business, and Allied Health Service."

The Miriam-Camosun partnership also covers other student development initiatives such as student exchange, articulation, dual degree validation, and the possibility of a joint degree program.

The signing ceremony took place on June 27 in Victoria, British Columbia, and was sealed by Miriam College Vice President for Academic Affairs Trixie Marie Sison and Camosun College Director Christiaan Bernard.

CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera III was also present at the event.

"This signing ceremony represents only the beginning of a transformative partnership rooted in a common goal to enhance colleges in both the Philippines and Canada," said de Vera.

CHED has advised that starting in the school year 2024-2025, Camosun College will be extending its presence to the Miriam College Alviera campus in Porac, Pampanga.

"Together, both institutions offer a dual awards program in Post Graduate Certificate and Master of Arts in Designing Education.  Through the learnings and insights gained from partnering with a UK university, Miriam College is starting its new transnational education initiative, this time with Camosun College," said CHED.

Miriam College began its transnational education in 2016 when it partnered with Goldsmiths University of London through the Joint Development of Niche Programs project of the commission.
