A lot of displays today are reaching for the stars, to unique designs backed with high-powered technology, all of which are vying for your attention. Well, they can stay up there. For some of us regular mortals, we just want a good display, enough to provide everything we need for productivity and entertainment.

So here we introduce Lenovo’s Legion Y27h-3o monitor. Besides having a cool specs sheet, the design of the display itself looks incredible. Legion’s own little logo is splayed in unique patterns, solidifying the Legion identity into the Y27h-30, as well as adding a flair of personality to it. In short, it looks great without being loud and excessive.

The Y27h-30 features a 27-inch display with 2560 x 1440, which is, for my personal taste, more than enough to show me a good time. The 180Hz refresh rate with 0.5 response time makes it a great option to pick for gaming. This is backed by Adaptive Sync, and AMD FreeSync Premium to bring out more from the display. The colors radiating from the display are rich, textured, and vibrant. Even though I spent much of my gaming time playing Terraria and then Starbound.

Among the hardware features, the Y27h-30 has the freedom of movement. You can tilt, swivel, and lift up or down to your optimal preference. When using the Y27h-3o as a second screen or simply when you need it to, you can pivot it vertically, which works well for some productivity apps or just checking in your chat via Twitch.

But, perhaps my favorite is that little space beneath the display itself. The stand is designed to hold mobile phones. I dig this, I really do. Normally, I wouldn’t know where to put my phone down. If I put it on the side of the keyboard, there’s a chance I miss crucial things, like a phone call from the wife. The little stand doesn’t cut it, as things sometimes their way on my desk, and the stand ends up being the first to go. So, more often, the phone goes in front of me, lying down just above the keyboard. Sadly, when new stuff appears and I have no other place to put it, I toss it above the keyboard, effectively covering my phone, which I would have to locate in panic for the next several frustrated hours. I know I can be a doofus.

Anyway, the built-in stand in the Legion Y27h-30? Big yes.

At the back are two HDMI ports, one display port, one Type B USB and four Type As, and one audio out, which for me, is plenty enough to fulfil what I would need.

Just in time too, there's a bunch of new games to check out, from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo IV, and Final Fantasy XVI, I'm pretty hyped to immerse myself into the Legion Y27h-30. But don’t just take my word for it, go check out the Legion Y27h-30 and see for yourself!
