PANGIL, Laguna – Police arrested three suspected members of a kidnap-for-ransom group here on Saturday morning, July 29.
Laguna police chief Police Col. Harold Depositar identified the suspects as Allan Laurenciano Guevarra, 45; Edwin Prestado, 54, and Jonathan Arante, 68.
Police implemented search warrants for violation of Republic Act 10591 (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition).
Seized from them were assorted high-powered firearms.
Guevarra and Prestado were nabbed through warrants of arrest while Arante was caught in the act of possessing a 12-gauge shotgun.
Suspects yielded four caliber .38 revolvers, two M16 rifles, three 12-gauge shotguns, three calibers .22, a Beretta 9mm, Uzi sub-machine gun, one caliber .357, and ammunition.
Warrants of arrest were issued by Judge Agrifino Bravo, Executive Judge, 4th Judicial Region, Lucena City.
