The Las Piñas Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) conducted a first aid olympics for barangay officials to enhance emergency response capabilities and promote community safety.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the olympics was held at the Aguilar Sports Complex in Barangay Pilar Village last Friday, July 21.
Aguilar said the activity was attended and participated by barangay officials to showcase their first aid skills and knowledge.
The active participation of various barangay representatives during the event demonstrated their proficiency in handling different emergency scenarios, she added.
The participants engaged in various simulated emergency situations, including medical emergencies, accidents and natural disasters.
Aguilar said the positive impact of the event is expected to resonate throughout the city, fostering a stronger and more resilient community.
The event, which was attended by Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, also aimed to foster camaraderie and healthy competition among local leaders while equipping them with life-saving skills and techniques.
