In the Philippines, food is one of the basic needs of a human being to survive. All of us depend on food for having good nutrition. With the absence of food, many Filipinos will be starving and malnourished.

Last July 22, the Philippine National Police launched a food bank. Senator Imee Marcos led the grand launch of the PNP Help and Food Bank aimed at enhancing the support of the police at the Oval field of Camp Crame.

Mrs. Philippines International Face of Beauty 2019 Riza Dormiendo was also present during the event. Among the highlights of the activity was the oath-taking ceremony for officers and members of the Anti-Crime Coalition for Peace and Progress International (ACCPPI), a people’s coalition organized in partnership with the PNP.

Dormiendo was appointed as Vice chairman of Community Anti-Crime Group. The ACCPPI plays a vital role in promoting peace and progress within our communities.

"I want to create change and make a big difference in society. I wanted to extend my help to those needy most especially to those Filipinos living in a very remote area. I wanted to be part of this that's why I donated sack of rice and essential goods to be stored and placed in the Food bank of the PNP," said Dormiendo, also president of Inner Wheel Club
Muntinlupa Filinvest.

Dormiendo strongly believes in the purpose and mission of the event because it aims to foster a stronger bond between the local communities and law enforcement agencies.

The PNP food bank will provide vital assistance and support to every Filipino family in case they are affected by natural calamities. She believes that we are at the crossroads of one of the greatest challenges in the Philippines: food stability and hunger.
