The Blackwater Bossing guard is joining a couple of fellow Filipino imports in the Korean Basketball League as he suits up for the Goyang Sono Skygunners, Marvin Espiritu, Torralba’s agent announced the development on Twitter on Monday night, July 24.
“Joshua Torralba is taking his talents to play for the Goyang Sono Sky Gunners 🏀🇵🇭➡️🇰🇷 in the KBL,” the tweet wrote.
The 29-year-old last saw action for the Bossing in the ongoing PBA On Tour in decent minutes.
The 2021 second-round draft pick Torralba normed 6.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals in his two games in the preseason tournament.
Torralba, a one-and-done La Salle Green Archer was part of the crew that won the school its recent championship title in UAAP Season 76 in 2016.
After his abrupt departure from the collegiate team to continue his studies in the US, Torralba found his way to the MPBL and became a key cog for the Makati Super Crunch.
With the development, Torralba is set to join KBL champion Rhenz Abando of the Anyang KGC, Justin Gutang of the Changwon LG Sakers, Dave Ildefonso of the Suwon KT Sonicboom and Fil-Am Ethan Alvano of the Wonju DB Prom in the neighboring league.
KBL just also recently saw the departure of Rookie of the Year RJ Abarrientos from the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus as he is set to jump to the Japan B.League against a bigger pool of Filipino imports.
