Vincent del Rosario named rising star of the business world

Vincent G. del Rosario, was named one of the Rising Stars of the business world by The Business Manual during the Growth Con PH growth summit which was held last July 6 at Ascott Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City. Del Rosario is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Viva Communications Inc. He was lauded for the extraordinary success of Vivamax, the video streaming platform which has recently crossed the 7 million subscribers mark, making it the undisputable number one OTT service in the Philippines. “We at Viva, are very happy about the success of Vivamax,” says Del Rosario, who as the son of Viva Founder and Chairman Vic del Rosario, Jr., was born and bred in the entertainment business.
“Vivamax is a pandemic baby,” continues Del Rosario. “We are always on the lookout for new business at Viva and we saw streaming as an interesting addition to the existing outlets for films. So we were already in the process of putting up Vivamax when COVID-19 happened.” Viva, whose main business is film production was left with no theatrical venues for its films. “But Vivamax was already there. We worked double time to set it up and we went into full operations in February, 2021. From there it just grew and grew. “ Vivamax has become a byword as the go-to platform for content geared towards mature audiences. It now owns a library of 408 titles with one new title coming out every week. It is now accessible in more than 100 countries and territories including Asia, the Middle East, North America, Europe, Oceania, China, Africa and Central and South America. In keeping with Viva’s commitment to provide quality entertainment for everybody, Viva recently launched VIVA ONE, a streaming platform with content geared for family and the general audience.
“You can say that we saw the opportunity and we grabbed it,” says Del Rosario of how Vivamax came about. Aside from Vivamax, Del Rosario is also involved with the day-to-day operations of Viva Communications. This includes production of content for film, television and on-line media, music production and publishing, live shows and others.
