Parañaque LGU starts online payment for traffic violations

The Parañaque City government announced that the Traffic and Parking Management Office (TPMO) has started implementing the online payment for traffic violations in the city on Tuesday, July 18.
According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, the online payment for motorists caught violating the unified single ticketing system of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) started on Tuesday, July 18.
He said the digitalization of payment for traffic violations is also part of the city government's move for a more convenient and easy transactions in the city.
The mayor said that based on the guidelines issued by the TPMO, motorists who commits violations may visit their website paranaquecity.ph/mrcs .
Olivarez said motorists may sign-in to the system using their old account or create a new account using their e-mail address.
He said motorists need to choose the “TPMO” category and type in their ordinance violation (OVR) number and their family name or last name and confirm the billing information.
The mayor added that after completing these steps, the motorists can pay using the QR code at the website or the debit/credit card through PayMaya, the online payment partner of the city government.
According to TPMO chief, Rey Murillo, motorists who committed traffic violations on July 14 need to wait for 24-hours for encoding processes before paying through PayMaya.
Murillo said motorists who committed violations must pay within the 10-day period starting from the date they committed the violation.
He said failure to pay the penalty within the prescribed period of 10 days will result in the confiscation of their drivers' license on their next violations by deputized traffic enforcers.
The TPMO chief added that those who were caught on July 13 or earlier may visit and pay personally at the City Treasurer's Office.
