Las Piñas LGU joins nationwide earthquake drill


The Las Piñas city government joined the nationwide earthquake drill as a proactive effort to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure the safety of its residents on Thursday, June 8.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the drill aimed to simulate a realistic scenario to test the city’s emergency response capabilities and strengthen its disaster management protocols.

Aguilar said the city government employees, led by the Disaster Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), demonstrated their preparedness in executing response protocols, and ensuring the swift and safe evacuation of all personnel.

She said the drill also included simulating first aid procedures, search and rescue operations, and the utilization of essential emergency equipment.

The mayor said the drill also provided an opportunity for the city government to identify areas for improvement, assess the effectiveness of existing emergency procedures, and foster a culture of preparedness among its employees.

Aguilar added that the valuable insights gained from this exercise will be utilized to refine disaster response plans and enhance coordination efforts with relevant agencies and stakeholders.

She said the city government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and resilience of its citizens by actively engaging in events like the nationwide earthquake drill.

The mayor also said the city government will continue to demonstrate its dedication to strengthen disaster preparedness and building a more secure future for all.
