Actress-beauty queen Patricia Javier and her husband American chiropractor, Dr. Robert Walcher couldn't be happier after their teenage son Robert Douglas Walcher IV won Mister Teen International 2023 during a competition held in Bangkok, Thailand last June 1.

Walcher IV came home for a warm welcome to the victory party held in Quezon City on Wednesday, June 7.

"Napaiyak talaga ako noong nanalo siya," said Patricia. (I really cried when he won).

Patricia added: "Akala ko moment lang niya yun pero ako ang naglagay ng korona sa kanya."

(I thought it was just his moment but it was also my moment when I put the crown on his head.)

Walcher IV thanked everyone who supported him in his pageant journey. He also won special awards such as Mr. Popular, Best in Smile, Most Charming Male, and Sash Factor’s Male Choice.

Asked where he got his winning qualities, the teen king said: “From my mom, I believe I took her generosity because whenever I go abroad, I would love to give my friends, my family, gifts from where I came from.

“From my dad, I’d say his mentality. My dad has the strongest mentality because he’s always dedicated to anything he does and he’s passionate too.

“I am a very dedicated person like my father, and so any work that I put into my interests like music or sports, I like playing the guitar and piano, every day, I work so hard and practice and all that," Walcher IV also said.

Patricia said that her son will fly to Thailand and Vietnam in the coming weeks for pageant-related activities.

Walcher IV, 16, is in Grade 10 as a homeschooled student, like his younger brother Ryan. He's also into music and sports.

Patricia also confirmed that her son will join show business.

"Robert will have a talent manager. Pero mag-uusap pa lang kami tungkol sa pagpasok niya sa showbiz. So far wala pang concrete details tungkol sa showbiz career niya," the veteran actress said.

Dr. Walcher also congratulated his son on his latest accomplishment.

"I've said to Robert, you have been presented with this opportunity to represent the Philippines. So why not do this and why not give it 100 percent? Who knows what's gonna happen? This is just a part of your journey in life. I always tell my kids that we grow when we come out of our comfort zone. Whether you're old or young you have to continue to push yourself. Of course, this is gonna be hard and Robert needs to be strong and lean to God. Just do the best that you can. You're gonna do great and I'm just excited for you," the doctor said.

Dr. Rob thanked members of the press who supported his son in his pageant journey.
