Jako de Leon on "Eat Bulaga!" issue

Joey de Leon's son, Jako, posted on social media his message to the new set of "Eat Bulaga" hosts.

On Twitter, he wrote: “And for all the ‘new’ hosts. Please, I’d appreciate it if you spare us the crocodile tears and pseudo-sentiments towards the show and the fans. Just do what your paid to do. Thanks!”

Jako also shared the same on Instagram, adding: “Sama nyo na Delicadesa, Dignity and Respect."

There, he reiterated that "hopefully," at the end of the day, "principles, loyalty, honor, & virtue" are qualities that still matter.

Recall that in a recent thread relating to Philippines Heritage Month, Jako shared some trivia about "Eat Bulaga!"

He stated: "Eat Bulaga is the longest-running top-rating noontime variety show (and one of the longest running tv shows in general - shout out to Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko, Jesus Miracle Crusade, and The World Tonight)."

"Close to 5 decades and 8 presidents later, Eat Bulaga has been seen CONSISTENTLY across 3 networks with over 13,000 LIVE episodes," he added.

Then he pointed out how the iconic title was coined and created by his father.

The original logo he said was created by Joey with Vic Delgado.

As for the melody of the show's iconic theme song, Jako said it was created by Vic Sotto.

"If you look at the old logo EA in EAT are actually 9s (lam nyo na kaninong idea yun) for their first network RPN 9. (Which is also famous as the network that told us what time it is)," Jako shared.

"The song goes: 'Sina Tito, Vic and Joey.' Almost 11 years after they transferred to ABS-CBN."

Jako continued: "'Eat Bulaga!' then rebuilt and strengthened ABS-CBN’s noontime block."

"Along with EB also moved Coney Reyes on Camera, Okay Fairy Ko and Agila," he related. "When the contract ended, they transferred to GMA-7. (If you remember “9-2 = 7”, even that was JDL’s idea.)"

He capped off his post: "For the past 28 long years, our Dabarkads and the REAL Eat Bulaga have been bringing in loyal noontime audiences to the Kapuso network. (Not to mention OFW audiences to PinoyTV)."

"Until a couple of days ago when all of a sudden they apparently didn’t belong anymore. June ‘23, TVJ, the Dabarkads, creatives, staff, majority of its crew down to loyal security guards are back on the move to find a new place to call home once again for their historical show."

Jako has been expressing his two cents about "Eat Bulaga!" since May 31, when Joey, Vic, and Tito Sotto surprised the online world with the announcement of their departure from Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE, Inc.), which produces the show for the past 44 years.

"They can take away our house, but we will never EVER lose our home," he said then.

He also noted in another tweet: "The fact that TVJ was barred from speaking on air to give a proper farewell speaks VOLUMES of the “respect” “new management” has for TVJ, the show, the other hosts and crew who’ve poured blood, sweat and tears the past 4 decades, and to the fans who love and watch the program."

Jako reiterated: "Many will never fully understand why this matters so much to us. Why majority chose uncertainty over money, security or even power. Why they chose to stick together and stand their ground. This is more than just a show or a job. This is about family."
