3 wanted persons arrested in Las Piñas, Parañaque

Three wanted persons were arrested in separate operations conducted by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) of Las Piñas and Parañaque police on Tuesday, June 6.

Brigadier Gen. Kirby John Brion Krafat, Southern Police District (SPD) director, announced the successful operations conducted by WSS teams against wanted persons.

Kraft identified the suspects as Catherine Lina, 45; Alexander Morante, 22, with aliases of  “Utoy, Tutoy, and Ulo”; and a certain Cyrus, 16.

In Las Piñas, Col. Jaime Santos, city police chief, said Lina, listed as Top 6
wanted person, was arrested at around 9 a.m. at Lower Laong Compound, Barangay Almanza Uno.

Santos said Lina, wanted for possession of illegal drugs, was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Anne Beatrice Aguana Balmaceda of Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 200 last Jan. 26, with no bail recommended.

In a separate manhunt operation, WSS members collared Morante who is facing two counts of theft and robbery.

The city police chief said Morante, tagged by the police as Top 3 wanted person, was arrested by joint teams of WSS, CAA Sub-Station, Station Intelligence Section, and Naval Intelligence Security Group- National Capital Region.

He was apprehended at around 10:30 a.m. on Calamansi St. in Barangay CAA, Las Piñas City.

Santos said the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Karen Sanchez Canullas Armada of Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 124 for two counts of theft, with a recommended bail of P10,00.

He said Judge Joseph Kahlil Crespo, of MTC Branch 79 issued a warrant of arrest against Morante for robbery, with a recommended bail of P30,000.

In Parañaque, Col. Renato Ocampo, city police chief, said the minor, Cyrus, who is facing rape by sexual assault charges, was nabbed at around 9:30 a.m. at Masthead Fourth Estate Subdivision, Barangay San Antonio.

Ocampo said the suspect, tagged as Top 6 wanted person, was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Jaime Mendoza Guray of Parañaque RTC Branch 260, with a recommended bail of P360,000.
