Cebuano lawyers-realtors seek to teach youth on financial literacy

CEBU CITY – A group of Cebuano lawyers seeks to help educate the youth on financial literacy and offer job opportunities by expanding the real estate business that they established four years ago.

In a press briefing on Thursday, June 29, Atty. Nestor Crispin Miguel Lumapas, together with his co-founders Atty. Paul Danico Blanco, Atty. John Michael Fiel, Atty. Jo. Kristian Borbajo, and Lovelyn Castañeda, said they decided to expand their business this year to focus on youth empowerment, especially in terms of having a growth mindset and dealing with finances.

Lumapas, president of Tierra Pro Real Estate Solutions, revealed that while they have been in the business of realty services for the last four years, they have yet to introduce to the younger generations the opportunities they can avail when they become brokers of their company.

"This is not just about giving job opportunities nor selling properties to investors, our main thrust is having this platform where we can spread our company principles,” said Lumapas.

“We believe that our unique approach can help Cebuanos with the growth mindset to allow them to earn and build their own wealth while keeping in mind how they can take good care of their money," added Lumapas.

Lumapas said expanding the company is not only an opportunity to earn but more so a golden opportunity to educate our younger generation by teaching them about how to think about money, how to invest what they earn, and empowering them with financial literacy.

The Cebu-based company is a comprehensive real estate services company offering expertise in real estate due diligence, admin titling, transfer of title, building administration, parking administration, acquisitions, land use conversion, DAR clearance processing, and settlement of estate.

"Aside from our team of lawyers in Tierra Pro, we are also part of the generation that learned financial literacy when we were already working. It is sad that our education system in the Philippines has not taught us this practical lesson in life, and where there is a gap there lies the opportunity,” added Lumapas.
