The Philippine National Police (PNP) urged on Saturday, June 3, all its units and more than 220,000 personnel to link up with the recently-launched eGov PH Super App as the national government steps up its digitalization efforts.
Police Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac, director of the PNP’s Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM), said the eGov PH Super App assures simplified transactions between the government and citizens.
PNP-DICT director Police Maj. Gen. Bernard Banac“With a vision to build a connected nation, this platform integrates the multi-sectoral government through a one-stop online system that will minimize economic costs for the citizens,” said Banac.
Banac issued the statement as he represented PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr. during the National ICT Month kick-off ceremonies in Malacanang on Friday, June 2.
In a prepared speech, Acorda the observance of National ICT Month is an opportune time for the PNP to cascade awareness among all police units and stakeholders of the significant role of ICT in the efficient delivery of government services, particularly services related to public safety, law enforcement, and internal security.
“The PNP’s 4th focused agenda on ICT Development augurs well with the desire of President Marcos for digitalized transactions in all government agencies,” Acorda said.
On the part of the PNP, Acorda said online transactions for license and permit requirements of civilian clientele, procurement of supplies, and processing of applications for recruitment are now in full digital format.
He said this is in compliance with Republic Act 11032 or the Ease Of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
The eGov PH Super App is a comprehensive platform that aims to digitize and streamline national and local government services as part of the government's ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and efficiency in delivering public services.
It offers a wide range of services, including the digitalization of government-issued IDs like the national ID and driver's license, wherein users can conveniently access their digital IDs through the app, eliminating the need for physical documents. The app also simplifies the process of SIM card registration by centralizing it within the platform.
A key feature of the app is the integration of outbound and inbound travel declaration forms. Travelers can easily submit and manage their travel declarations through the platform, providing a seamless experience and reducing paperwork.
The eGov PH Super App also extends its functionality to other essential government services, such as business registration, tax payment, and social security benefits. By centralizing these services, the app aims to provide Filipinos with convenient and efficient access to critical government services.
