More Alagang Tingog Centers (ATC) continue to spring up in different parts of the country thanks to the collaborative efforts of House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre.
Late last month, ATCs were inaugurated in Candelaria and Sta. Cruz, Zambales. This was made possible through the help of Zambales 2nd district Rep. Doris Maniquiz.
Rep. Romualdez, wife of Speaker Romualdez, is the House Committee on Accounts chairperson. Acidre, on the other hand, is a deputy majority leader.
The ATC--the brainchild of the lady solon--is a social service-slash-public outreach center. It serves as a one-stop-shop for those seeking medical, funeral, educational, and monetary assistance and other critical social services from the government.
House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias Gabonada represented Romualdez during the recent inauguration of these centers.
“Hindi ho ito ngayon lang, Dahil nagtayo po tayo rito ng sariling kusina para araw-araw ninyo pong matikman ang tulong na gustong ibigay ng Office of the Speaker at ng Tingog Party-list (This is not for today only. We built our own kitchen here so that you can taste everyday the brand of assistance that the Office of the Speaker and Tingog Party-list want to give),” Gabonada said.
The ATC also collaborated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in distributing cash aid to thousands of residents from Candelaria, Sta. Cruz, and Masinloc.
Meanwhile, the Speaker's office and Tingog Party-list, in partnership with the DSWD Region XII, distributed P3,000 worth of cash aid to 100 beneficiaries who were victims of typhoon "Paeng" in Barangay Tubuan, Datu Blah Sinsuat Maguindanao del Norte.
Last April 20, one ATC each was inaugurated in Tagum City and the municipalities of Asuncion and San Isidro in Davao del Norte.
Just a day earlier, Tingog also formally opened an ATC each in Samal Island, Panabo City, and the municipality of Carmen, also in Davao del Norte.
