Interestingly this month, I once again embarked on another groundbreaking journey—a "greenovation" movement that revolutionizes how we organize events.
Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intellectual backbone of Alibaba Group, has joined forces with Singapore's “i Light Singapore 2023” initiative, spearheaded by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).
Together, they present an extraordinary immersive light experience that captivates and highlights sustainability. Let us delve into the details of this game-changing collaboration and how it sets the stage for a greener future.
Illuminating sustainability with AI called "Energy Expert"
Alibaba Cloud's software-as-a-service sustainability solution, Energy Expert, takes center stage in the dazzling light display, Lightwave: Turning the Tide. Held from 1 to 25 June 2023 at Marina Bay, this mesmerizing experience offers more than just visual delight—it serves as a platform to analyze carbon emissions. By utilizing Energy Expert, actionable insights and energy-saving recommendations can be derived, contributing to future editions of this event.
This groundbreaking partnership emphasizes technology's role in advancing sustainability and paves the way for deeper collaborations between innovation and eco-conscious initiatives.
Pledging towards a greener future
i Light Singapore 2023 aims to empower individuals to embark on their sustainability journeys.
Through i Light i Pledge, the public can make pledges online, committing to their green movements and vision for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Leveraging Alibaba Cloud's artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, each pledge generates a unique visual representation. These visuals form an integral part of the closing chapter of Lightwave: Turning the Tide, symbolizing the significance of individual actions in shaping a sustainable future. Moreover, for every pledge submitted (up to the first 5,000 pledges), 100 grams of waste will be removed from Singapore's waterways, illustrating the tangible impact of collective efforts. Further, I was able to pledge and hope that my pledge also gets an impact. Like I always say, one change is better than no change at all.
