AGIMAT Party-list Rep. Bryan Revilla gave a very appreciative shout-out on Facebook Saturday, June 24 to police and fire bureau personnel who helped saved him from his burning vehicle along EDSA.

"My vehicle caught on fire this morning while I was driving along EDSA. Thankfully no one got hurt. I was able to get out relatively unscathed and was able to get to safety with the help of some strangers and traffic officials," Rep. Revilla wrote in a post.

"I'd like to give my utmost thanks and praise to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Mandaluyong, the PNP (Philippine National Police) and MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) traffic enforcers who came to my aid. They were all very swift and efficient," shared the congressman.

Rep. Revilla is the son of movie star-turned-senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.

"I salute these public servants who came to assist without hesitation. I will be working closely with them to determine what could have caused the fire," added the AGIMAT solon.

"Agimat" is the Filipino word for talisman, which in local popular culture brings good luck or special powers to its wearer.

Despite walking away from the incident virtually without a scratch, the House member still left sorry for causing inconvenience to his fellow motorists during the freak vehicular fire.

"While this was a completely unforeseen incident, I am aware that it has caused inconveniences to my fellow road-users and for that I am sorry," he said, adding that he was "saddened" by the event.

"This is a reminder to my fellow drivers and enthusiasts to regularly have cars checked for road-worthiness, be vigilant while driving and be responsible road users," he further said.
