The DENR Services on Wheels is a mobile one-stop shop that will provide communities on this island with routinary services without the need to go to Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

It will also accept online applications for Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and tenural instrument requests and applications, among others.

Loyzaga hopes to institutionalize DENR Services on Wheels in other regions to make its services closer to the people.

“The tourism industry in this beautiful island will benefit,” DENR-Caraga Director Nonito Tamayo said. “We hope that our agency’s business on wheels is a big boost to the tourism industry here,” Tamayo added.

More than 1,000 tourism-related business establishments which have no ECC will benefit from this project.

Meanwhile, the DENR on Friday awarded the Protected Area Community-Based Resource Management Agreement (PACBRMA), a tenurial instrument issued to a people’s organization to develop, utilize, manage, conserve, and protect the Community Based Program (CBP) in Protected Areas, to the Kaugmaon Nan Sapaonon Association Inc. (Kinsai).

Kinsai is the second out of nine POs to be awarded with PACBRMA in the Siargao Island Protected Landscape and Seascape (SIPLAS). The first was awarded to the Josafat Farmers and Fisherfolks Association Inc. last December.
