KC and Gabby Concepcion recall how they reconnected

Gabby Concepcion's eldest child, KC, recently appeared on his vlog.
Coinciding with Father's Day, Gabby recalled the first time that he and his daughter with Sharon Cuneta reconnected after being estranged for almost 15 years.
"I was in real estate in California and then nilalabas ko ang mga gamit ko sa kotse e malamig, winter noon e. So noong nilalabas ko 'yung mga envelope ko, nilalagay ko sa bubong dahil marami pa akong kukunin, biglang nag-ring 'yung telepono. Pagsagot ko ng telepono, may nagsabing 'Hi, can I speak to Gabby Concepcion, please?' And I said, 'Hi, is this my baby?' I knew it was you on the phone, I knew it," he shared.
Gabby continued: "We haven't talked kasi for many many years. And then when you called that day - kasi it was at the back of my head sinasabi ko sa sarili ko na, 'One day hahanapin ako nito. One day tatawag 'to, I don't know when, but one day it's gonna happen.'"
And it did.
Gabby reiterated that maybe at the back of his head, he already knew KC was going to call.
"I just didn't know when. I knew it was you, and eksakto it was you."
KC then shared her version.
"I was waiting for my bus to go to school and I was at the bus stop. I remember nag-absent ako sa school noon, nag-cut class ako that day because nag-usap tayo for the first time. It was the first time that we reconnected. It was such a big moment for me that I had to miss class," she said.
"I was crying at the bus stop when we put the phone down kasi natulala lang ako after. I couldn't believe na naririnig' (ko) 'yung voice mo in my ears even after we put the phone down."
KC was so glad to have been able to reconnect with Gabby after not seeing each other for so many years. And she appreciates Gabby's efforts to make up for the lost time. "You're very much involved, very present in my life, in my adult years," was how KC put it. "You really made up for all the time that we didn't get to spend together and it's even better." Gabby then asked KC when did she feel the closest to him. Well, she said it's the fact that her dad is not just there for "the good times." "You're really there for me when, like, in my lowest of low. You don't leave me, you're always by my side when I'm really low. So that's I know you really love me, hindi lang dahil you have to kasi you're my papa but you really listen and you really know that's so important for me."
