Fixers, or individuals who offer to expedite the processing of public documents in exchange for grease money, will no longer have a chance to peddle their services, Marcos said.

"Wala na 'yan. Mawawala na 'yan (That's gone. It will be gone)," The President said on Friday, June 2, during the launch of the app.

Through the Super App, Filipinos will be able to access and avail themselves of government services, such as valid personal identification in digital format, essential day-to-day core government services; e-tourism and e-travel services; and e-payments and banking services.

Aside from simplifying government processes, the President stressed that one of the major advantages of having an app for all public transactions is lessening corruption.

"There is another part of this that is extremely important that we sometimes do not talk about and that is the lessening of corruption because you do  not have to talk to a person at all for the entire process," Marcos said.

"So that way it simplifies the process, especially for the citizens and there is no discretion being exercised by anyone," he added.

The chief executive said the government will further expand the eGov PH Super App, as he asked for the participation of all government agencies and the private sector.

"We owe that to the people. We owe them to be able to do that. We should not allow them to continue to suffer to this antiquated, corrupt, and inefficient system," Marcos said.

"This is a very good step and we will continue to push this and we will need the partnership not only of our government agencies but also the private sector because the private sector also has concerns in this regard, especially when it comes to cyber security," he added.

The eGov PH Super App was launched during the kick-off ceremony of the 15th National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month held in Malacañang.

According to Malacañang, the month-long celebration encapsulates the government’s vision of a digitally-empowered nation that strives to bridge the digital divide and bring countless opportunities for the benefit of all Filipinos through forging a sustainable, secure and inclusive digital feature.

It also aims to highlight the importance of various areas of focus in promoting digital transformation in different sectors such as innovation and inclusion, governance, workforce competitiveness, as well as infrastructure and cybersecurity.
