Eat Bulaga’s non-airing draws mixed reactions from netizens

Fans of the noon-time show Eat Bulaga continue to post mixed reactions on social media over the development of the television show including the breaking of ties by the show’s pioneer hosts, popularly known as the TVJ with the show’s producer, which is the Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Incorporated)
As of past 8 p.m. on May 31, or some nine hours after the show did not air live on GMA TV network, the Facebook page of Eat Bulaga had generated almost 400,000 sad, like, and love reactions, 36,000 comments, and 62,000 shares.
The FB page has posted the official statement of TVJ, which stands for Tito, who is Former Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto, III, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, that centers on the trio ending their link with Tape.
The trio also appeared on Eat Bulaga’s YouTube page to air their official statement explaining briefly why the longest-running noontime variety show did not broadcast its May 31 live episode.
Sad emoticons appeared on most of the messages sent by netizens on the comment section of the social media pages as soon as the recorded segments of the 44-year-old television show started to be shown on television at 12 noon and on Facebook and YouTube pages simultaneously.
Crying emoticons also appeared alongside the comments of the netizens on Eat Bulaga’s FB page along with their various reactions on missing the live broadcast of the show on May 31.
Instead of the live broadcast, some clips of the TVJ singing together in past shows were shown. Past segments of Eat Bulaga were also shown in place of the live show.
TAPE Inc., the majority shares of which are owned by the family of former Congressman Romeo Jalosjos, is the producer of the television show.
The APT studio, where Eat Bulaga airs through GMA Television from 12 noon until 2:30 p.m., is located in Cainta, Rizal.
