Princess, directed by Roberto de Paolis, won the best film for Filipino and Thai audiences at the 12th edition of the Moviemov Italian Film Festival. At the same time, the Under30s have chosen Ghiaccio, directed by Fabrizio Moro alongside Alessio de Leonardis, which took place from March 27 to 31, thanks to the collaboration with MyMovies. The seven films of the competition’s showcase for the Philippines and Thailand, and the talks of Italian Cinema Now, are available in streaming for Italy.

This 12th edition of Moviemov, which celebrated the great Italian cinema in the Philippines and Thailand, reached 6,500 audiences through screenings and meetings and gained over 130,000 contacts. In addition to the Asian audience in the Philippines and Thailand, it also involves schools and universities in the Philippines that have been working for a long time with lessons and insights on Italian cinema.

Among the protagonists who participated in the meetings were Ice protagonist Vinicio Marchioni with the director Alessio de Leonardis and the producer Francesca Verdini, revelation actor of The Lord of the Ants Leonardo Maltese, Princess interpreter Maurizio Lombardi, and Margini protagonists Emanuele Linfatti and Matteo Creatini with the producer Luigi Chimenti and Moviemov president Goffredo Bettini. On March 31, Moviemov Italian Film Festival organized a virtual Q&A with the protagonists of the movies involved in the competition. On top of that, directors and producers had an e-meet with the public, which created a panel focused on Italian cinema.

The said event was prepared and introduced by a masterclass on great Italian cinema conducted by the journalist Chiara Nicoletti for students who have finished the program from the University of the Philippines-Piccola Italia (UP Piccola Italia) and University of the Philippines Euro-Filipino Understanding & Relations Organization (UP Euro), MINT College, University of San Carlos, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan, De La Salle University, and many others.

Moviemov Italian Film Festival has been realized by ACPLAYTOWNROMA since 2020, thanks to the support of the Directorate General for Cinema of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration and with the Italian embassies, the Philippine-Italian Association (PIA), and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
