PrimeWater and Tagaytay City Water District (TCWD) have successfully implemented an advanced septage treatment facility in Tagaytay City, Cavite, thereby bolstering the technology-driven sanitation initiatives in the city. This cutting-edge facility is designed to ensure water sanitation for nearly 19,000 subscribers city-wide, a reflection of the commitment by both organizations to boost public health and water sustainability.

Establishing this technologically sophisticated facility meets the requirements of The Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004, or Republic Act No. 9275, underscoring the importance of preserving, revitalizing, and maintaining the purity of the country's water resources.

The new Septage Treatment Plant, inaugurated at Barangay Guinhawa North, Tagaytay City, can treat 30 cubic meters per day of wastewater collected from the septic tanks before releasing it to waterways. It will serve 19,000 concessionaires in all 34 Barangays of the city. PrimeWater-TCWD will also deploy vacuum trucks to secure the continuous sanitation service.

TCWD General Manager Carmelita O. Ferma emphasizes, "This project marks a significant milestone in our commitment to proper wastewater management and environmental protection. Together with PrimeWater, we take this significant step towards promoting sanitation and sustainable development in our city."

According to a 2020 World Health Organization report, 45% of households worldwide release generated wastewater without ensuring its safe treatment. This practice, potentially linked to the proliferation of water-borne diseases, underlines the importance of technology-enhanced sanitation procedures.

Furthering their commitment to sanitation, PrimeWater and TCWD will deploy tech-equipped vacuum trucks to ensure seamless sanitation services across all 34 barangays in Tagaytay City.

Expressing the joint ambition of the two organizations, PrimeWater's Asst. Vice President for JV Operations, Atty Cezar Ong, concludes, "This project reflects our dedication to leveraging technology for sustainable management of water resources, securing a clean and safe environment for both the present and future generations."
