Thousands join Palaisdaan Festival in Hagonoy, Bulacan


Thousands of devotees and local tourists boarded the 300 motorized boats that joined the pagoda or fluvial parade during the Palaisdaan Festival in Hagonoy, Bulacan on Saturday, July 22.

The celebration symbolizes the rich marine resources, as well as the cultural and religious traditions of the municipality. 

Hagonoy Mayor Baby Manlapaz and Councilor Jey-R Manlapaz led the colorful festival in line with the fiesta celebration of their patron saint Sta. Ana.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass in Barangay San Pascual, followed by the fluvial parade which started from San Pascual River going to San Roque, Poblacion River, then back to Barangays Sagrada, Sta Elena.

It ended at Parong Parong River where the parade set off for a procession towards Apo Ana Church in Hagonoy proper. 

The celebration was also fully supported by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) group headed by it officer-in-charge Ret. Police Col. Manuel Lukban Jr., and the Hagonoy Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) headed by Rene Crisostomo.
