“Buo ang suporta ng sangkaguruan kay Rep. France Castro sa kaniyang pagtindig para sa kaniyang kalayaan at seguridad (The teaching community fully supports Rep. France Castro in her stand for her freedom and security),” said Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) Philippines Chairperson Vladimer Quetua.

“Nawa’y maging patunay itong kasong isinampa ni Rep. France laban sa dating pangulong Duterte na walang kinikilingan ang hustisya sa ating bansa (May this case filed by Rep. France against the former President Duterte serve as proof that justice in our country is impartial),” he added.

ACT alleged that the “culture of killing continues to prevail due to the legacy left by the Duterte administration, which, during its own regime, initiated widespread extrajudicial killings and violations of human rights.”

“Hindi dapat magmarka sa kaisipan ng kabataan at mamamayan na normal ang magbanta sa buhay ng sinuman (Threatening someone's life should not be normalized in the minds of the youth and the public),” Quetua said.

Meanwhile, ACT welcomed the House of Representatives’ commitment to the safety and security of Castro and all lawmakers, as well as their decision to realign the P1.23 billion confidential fund under the proposed 2024 national budget including the P650 million confidential funds allocated to the Office of the Vice President and P150 million to the Department of Education.

Moreover, ACT also expressed support for the move of the Magdalo group urging the Marcos administration to allow the International Criminal Court investigators into the country to hold former president Duterte accountable for his "crimes against humanity.”
