PRO-1 Director Police Brig. Gen. John C. Chua said the success of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Monday, October 30, is a product of the commitment of all government agencies and stakeholders towards orderly and peaceful polls.

“With this laudable accomplishment, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the security forces, especially to the AFP, Coast Guard, the Comelec-Region 1, and our friendly forces and stakeholders for their cooperation in transpiring a successful and peaceful BSKE,” said Chua.

Chua also attributed the peaceful conduct of the election to the series of contingency planning of all members of the Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC), proper deployment of police personnel to the polling centers and quick reaction teams (QRT), intensified conduct of focused police operations, and designation of red teams to oversee and supervise the implementation of the security plan in all political districts of the four provinces in the region – La Union, Pangasinan, and Ilocos Sur and Norte.

PRO-1 accelerated its security measures and sustained its deployment for November 1 and 2 in the region.
