The Parañaque city government provided free dental services to 100 day care learners on Friday, Sept. 29.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said the program dubbed as “Bright Smiles, Bright Fututes” was attended by day care learners at the Child Development Center in Barangay Don Galo.
Olivarez said the program was organized by the Philippine League of Local Government Dentists in coordination with the City Health Office under Dr. Olga Virtusio, City Dental Services Division led by Dr. Marissa Banta and Colgate-Palmolive Philippines.
He said the city Dental Health Division conducted a session on dental health education, supervised a tooth brushing drill, and gave oral examinations and fluoride applications.
The mayor also said Colgate-Palmolive Philippines distributed topical fluoride, kiddie toothbrush, toothpaste and other promotional supplies.
Olivarez said Don Dalo Barangay Head Marilyn Brugos also distributed some freebies to the day care learner who joined the program.
In his message to children, Olivarez told them the importance of brushing their teeth three times a day.
He also said the city government will continue to give services and program for the children in taking care of their oral hygiene.
