The national launch, to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manila Hotel in Rizal Park, aims to inform stakeholders at the national level on the “programs, targets, strategies, and interventions” of the PPAN.

As per NNC, the PPAN will serve as the country’s “blueprint of action for nutrition improvement.”

The PPAN, NNC added, is also a “vital part” of the Philippine Development Plan and “lays out targets and priority actions to guide the national government agencies, local government units, and other stakeholders in addressing all forms of malnutrition.”

The PPAN 2023-2028 national launch will be led by Health Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa along with the members of the NNC Governing Board.

Other expected guests include Department of Agriculture Undersecretary for Policy, Planning, and Regulation Mercedita A. Sombilla; Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr., and Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman.

Based on the program provided by NCC, Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex T. Gatchalian, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, Department of Science and Technology Secretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum, National Economic and Development Authority Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, and Philippine Legislators' Committee on Population and Development Executive Director Romeo M. Dongeto were also expected to attend the PPAN 2023-2018 launch.

NNC is expecting around 500 guests, which will include members of the NNC Governing Board and technical committee, national and local key stakeholders. (Zekinah Elise Espina)
