Marcos says Coldplay concert was 'unmissable'

As the music lover that President Marcos is, Coldplay's concert in the Philippines is something that he cannot miss.

Marcos was nothing but impressed with the British rock band's concert held at the Philippine Arena on  Friday, Jan. 19, saying it was unmissable, fantastic, great, and spectacular.

"Siguro, by now, alam na ninyo na music lover talaga ako (Perhaps by now, you already know that I am a music lover). I have been for a long time, I have studied music for many years. And, to have somebody like Coldplay--- you can’t--- unmissable dapat ‘yun (that must be unmissable)," he said in an ambush interview in Quezon City on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

"You cannot miss. So, I went and it was—by the way, it was fantastic. It was great," he added.

He further commended the quality of the concert attended by 40,000 spectators, saying it was on a different level and it was his first time experiencing such.

"You can ask anybody who attended the concert, ibang klase. Hindi na 'yung concert na pinupuntahan namin dati (it's on a different level. It is not like the concerts that we've been to)," the President said.

"Ibang-iba na. Talagang (It's very different. Really) it’s a whole—not only that, it shows that [they're] spectacular. Talagang hindi pa ako nakakita ng ganun. Wala pang ganun sa Batac (I have never seen something like that. There is no such show in Batac)," he even quipped.

Marcos was talking about the well-attended concert in Bulacan when asked if it was part of his "me time" with his family.

It can be recalled that the Chief Executive arrived at the concert venue onboard a presidential chopper on Friday night.

In a statement the next day, PSG commander MGen Nelson Morales explained that they were compelled to use the chopper as the number of people posed a security threat to the President.

Videos taken by concert goers also showed that during the concert, Manila's traffic was mentioned by the band's vocalist where Marcos was seen reacting to it.
