ZAMBOANGA CITY – A record-breaking crowd trooped to the Abong Abong Park in this city to observe the Holy Week.

Police reported no untoward incidents.
From 5 a.m. to 12 noon on Maundy Thursday, 52,848 people visited the park, police said.
The number of devotees visiting the park went down on Good Friday as the faithful participated in processions depicting Christ’s death on the cross.
Police estimated the number of devotees who have visited the park during the Holy Week at 100,000.
The Abong Abong Park is the destination of the faithful who wish to pray before the 14 Stations of the Cross.
The city government has put security measures in place at Abong Abong Park before the Holy Week, including the deployment of a Mobile Command Force to monitor the entry and movement of people and transportation.
