Wish Date first-timers Raymond Lauchengco and Rachel Alejandro expressed their excitement about becoming part of the upcoming Wish Date: Twilight this coming Sunday.

“I'm excited! Wish FM stands out because of the live sessions they broadcast from the Wish Bus, and they do lots of special events for their audiences like the last one they did in Solaire,” Raymond started.

“So, I'm happy to be a part of this next one on April 9 for a station that is truly innovative and one that really goes out of its way to engage their audience and give them what they want,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Rachel, she hoped that the audience will feel nostalgic when she performed her hit songs.

“I’m excited to be performing for Wishers on April 9 and to be sharing my hit songs that maybe some of them have also grown up with just as I have. I hope they bring back fond memories,” said Rachel.

Being a seasoned artist in the music industry, Rachel unquestionably gives the best performances when she’s on stage.

“I don’t get nervous for concerts, since my primary goal when I’m performing is to bring joy. I get nervous for auditions or when I’m participating in some kind of competition where I’m being judged,” she explained.

Raymond, who’s behind the OPM songs Farewell, Saan Darating Ang Umaga, and I Need You Back, revealed that he still gets nervous whenever he performs.

"Yes, believe it or not, I always get pretty nervous before I sing. It makes no difference that I've been singing for a long time now—each time still feels like the first. The butterflies usually start to wreak havoc in my tummy before I go on stage and stay there for a few seconds as I begin to sing my first number," he started.

"Then, I start reminding myself that singing isn't about me but about the people for whom I sing. And as soon as I focus on the audience instead of myself, the nerves magically melt away," he added.

Meanwhile, young OPM artist Hakki expressed how honored she is to be performing with such OPM icons.

“I am really glad and honored to be performing with great artists and OPM icons. Especially that I am still new in the industry, I’d be very happy to learn from them,” said Hakki.

Hakki joined The Voice Teens in 2020 when she was 14 years old where she became part of the Team APL.

“Firstly, I am really grateful to God for this humbling opportunity. My heart is filled with overflowing excitement and bliss that I get to perform for Wish Date for the first time. With God’s help, I’ll be doing my best, and hopefully, everyone will enjoy our performances,” she added.

When asked what the audience could expect from Sunday’s performances, Raymond and Hakki could not contain their excitement.

“I always try to do my best regardless of the show or the repertoire, but this time will be especially fun because I get to focus solely on my hit songs,” granted Raymond.

“I’m so excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on and practicing for weeks. There are a lot of great things to expect in this coming Wish Date Concert. And I think people should expect a different side of me, as a performer,” shared Hakki.

But for Rachel, she just kept it short and simple: “Expect to sing along!”

To complete the roster of featured artists, OPM pop band Freestyle will also serenade the audience with their iconic songs.
